September 1, 2008: Krushansky Racing Not So Lucky For Hillbilly Weekend…
After qualifying 2nd fast in group #1, Louie started outside of Kenny Johnson in heat #1. The two veterans raced side-by-side for the first half of the race, never touching, just racing hard. After the caution came out, they restarted single file and the #23 went on to win the heat. Since there was group qualifying, heat winners had to redraw and Louie ended up starting on the pole of the AMRA Nationals.
Saturday came and it was time for hot laps… on the final lap, there was some smoke out of the engine of the #23. Back to the pits and it appears the motor broke during hot laps… Louie went to look for the engine builder and ran into Mike “Bird” Wilson, who offered his spare motor. Back at the pits, they tried to diagnose the problem. Once they did, the decision was made. We got busy and pulled the motor from the #23 and headed to Bird’s rig to put his spare in. We were close to finishing when they announced the final call to line up for the modified feature. KJ drove by on the 4-wheeler and said, “If I find you a ride, will you tag the tail?” Keep in mind that Louie and Kenny are racing for the RWT title. Not a minute later, he came back and said to get ready, the 3M will be up for you to drive in just a minute. Louie grabbed his helmet and gear while Anthony Huber raced back to bring the car to line-up and I went to inform the officials. Since there was a driver change, Louie had to tag the tail. He started last and missed the first wreck, just riding around, getting used to the car. Next thing you know, the 15 and 13 got together and we were the victim of circumstance. The bump ended up breaking the tie rod end on the #3M, ending Louie’s night with a 19th place finish. But, 19th is better than a DNS. Now for the thanks…
Mike Sprouse and Stray Bullet Motorsports for their generosity in loaning Louie the #3M modified. It was a last minute request, but you didn’t hesitate to get the car ready and into line up.
Mike “Bird” Wilson and his crew for the use of his spare motor and all the help in getting it in (and back out) of the #23.
Tommy, Bubba and Junior Nolan with the 2 Brothers Motorsports team for their help in pulling the motor, running for parts, using the 4-wheeler, tools and all the other assistance they gave us.
Mike Hawkins for finding us a fitting that worked and to Zach & Tim Dohm for loaning it to him.
Steve Wilmoth and his crew for the loan of the motor oil.
Kenny Johnson… Racing us for the title and he jumped right in to help prep the motor and get it in the car, he stayed with us till final call and still didn’t get in his car. He jumped on the 4-wheeler and went to find Louie an alternate ride.
Gene Johnson for doing some parts running.
Tiger, Huber and all of the others that pitched in doing whatever we needed to get the motor together. We were in a bad spot and we had fellow racers and crew members offering their motors, parts, help, cars and whatever was needed to get Louie into the field. I hope that we thanked each of you appropriately when the race was over. Your help, support and generosity means more to our team then we could ever put into words. You guys are the greatest!!!

Skyline Speedway Results 8-22-08
By Scott Wolfe
STEWART, OHIO-The dog days of summer can create both havoc and excitement. Skyline had a little bit of both. Not only was temperature in Athens County registering a blistering level, but the racing at the Southern Ohio hotbed was once again equally hot. AMRA Modified icon Louis Krushansky has won practically everywhere he has raced, but he had never won a Skyline main until Friday night. The win was a hard-fought one over AMRA competitor Kenny Johnson, who paved the trail for the pack over the first seven laps.
"Lucky Louis" as he is known nationwide, didn't need much luck Friday. He was just plain fast. Although final points were not tallied at press time, Jeremy Berwanger may well have had his championship run stymied when he left the race early with mechanical problems. Berwanger has been a big winner and solid runner in this hotbed of open wheel racing.
Hassy Chassis House man Kenny Johnson led the first seven circuits. A tacky track allowed for 3-wide flatfoot racing with Johnson diving low in the early going, only to have Morgantown's Krushansky root him off the bottom for a lap eight pass. Johnson stayed close with Kevin Moorehouse making it a 3-way battle.
Likewise, Roy Roush, the hard charger of the race, up from 14th to fourth, won a battle with Donnie Nething, John Burdette, and Jeff Wood. Krushansky, the Florida Speedweek winner, and talented traveler of the AMRA circuit rolled on to the win over Johnson, Moorehead, Roush, Nething, Burdette, Dickson, Wood, Doug Henry, and Jeremy Blake.

August 17, 2008 –Louie Krushansky made a return visit to Roaring Knob and jumped out front at the start of the 15-lap Brooks Auto Group Modified feature. Krushansky led until lap six when the second place car of Phil Jeffries made contact with Krushansky, spinning both drivers out. This put Be Thorn on the point and he led the next five laps before Morgantown, WV’s Nolan Dalton, who came from the rear after a lap four spin, replaced Thorn as the leader. Dalton then went uncontested the final four laps for his second feature win at the Knob. Krushansky came back through to finish second over Phil Jeffries, Bobby Bennett and Rod Lanham. Six through ten were Todd Daughenbaugh, Mike Errett, Josh Cramer, Josh Revels and Be Thorn. Vic Vandergrift and Jeffries were the heat winners.
